In the early 1990’s a new genre of card games would explode on to thescene, based on the role-playing game “Dungeons and Dragons” first created in 1974 by Gary Gygax andDave Arneson. However, trading card games based in high fantasysettings are relatively new. Playing cards and various tabletop games have been around since the 1300’s and collectible cards sinceas early as 1904 in the form of baseball cards.
